Waves of Innovation Event
For those who didn’t attend the Waves of Innovation event on Capitol Hill this Tuesday, a YouTube is available for your viewing pleasure. The panel consisted of Rasika Abeysinghe from Bell Labs, High Tech Forum contributor Steve Crowley, Senate aides Neeta Bidwai and Matt Hussey, and economists Hal Singer from Navigant and Tom Hazlett from George Mason University, with audience participation from National Broadband Plan architect Blair Levin and Mike Calabrese of New America Foundation.
We covered each of the three burning questions in spectrum policy:
- How much needs to be reallocated for LTE?
- Where does it come from?
- How does it get there?
The basic insight is the need to transition from the static allocation system of the past towards a system that automatically adjusts as innovation alters patterns of demand.
